Tier on Tier Shutters

Tier on Tier Plantation Shutters are great for tall windows. The major advantage of Tier on Tier Shutters is that the top shutters can be open allowing light and air to enter, while the bottom shutters remain closed protecting your privacy.

Tier on Tier Plantation Shutters can be made to fit all Windows sizes and the divider position and Shutter style is entirely up to the customer.

Shaped Shutters

Because architecture is not confined to straight lines and right angles; neither are our Plantation Shutters. By choosing from our Special Shaped Shutter range, you expose your interior design to a whole new range of options and ideas.

Each window in your home will be made to measure exact to your specifications, ensuring a personal finish is applied every time.

Divider Rails

The addition of a Divider Rail is a very popular option for home owners today. A divider rail offers similar advantages to our Tier on Tier Design, allowing the bottom to be closed for privacy, while the top remains open to allow light in. However, unlike Tier-on-Tier Shutters, choosing Divider Rails means there is no need to install a separate panel to take advantage of the increased versatility.

Café Style

Café Style Shutters have stood the test of time and proven to be exceedingly popular in homes and café's. They can create a continental feel in a room, while maintaining a degree of privacy. Café Style Shutters will allow natural light to fill the room. Particularly popular in Kitchens, where light exclusion is rarely desirable; Café Style Shutters can be used in conjunction with simple roller Window Blinds to provide full privacy if required.

French Doors & Room Dividers

Shutters are an excellent upgrade from blinds. An entire french door area can be covered with Stylish Shutters, made to your very own design requirements.

If the handle of your French Door seems like a problem, not to worry; our professional carpenters will ensure these challenges are met and remedied before your shutters reach your home. As well as French doors, Shutters work great as room dividers.

Bi-Folding Shutters

Bi-fold Window Shutters contain shutter panels that are hinged together and therefore fold against each other concertina style.

The Shutters can be free hanging or used with a track, which helps to guide and support the panels. Bi-fold panels can be configured to where panels open all to one side or to where they open to both sides of the door.

Painted Finishes

Whether you prefer the classic whites & creams, or if you prefer to be a little more adventurous with your colour palatte, ShutterCo have the answer. Choose from our standard colour range or choose you own colour.

Wood Stains

If you prefer the charm of a stained window shutter to the classic painted version, we supply shutters in a range of five wood finishes.

Standard Central Tilt Rod

A timeless classic. The louvre tilt angle is adjusted by moving a rod mounted in the centre of the panel and affixed to each individual louvre.

The central tilt rod is the traditional approach to louvre adjustment. To adjust the angle of the louvres, simply move the tilt rod up or down until the desired angle is reached.

Offset Tilt Rod

Shutters-6.jpg

This is a simple variation offers a modern twist on a traditional, time-honoured system. This is a similar system to the standard tilt rod.

However, in this case, the tilt rod is moved towards the edge of the louvre to create a more modern feel, while still retaining the charm of the traditional tilt rod.

Hidden Tilt Rod

IMG_2224.JPEG

Also known as ‘Easy-Tilt’, this option completly removes the tilt rod from the panel. The louvres are connected by a mechanism built into the vertical style.

This system offers a contemporary, ‘clean-lines’ look to the shutters. To adjust the angle of the louvres, simply move one louvre and the entire string moves in unison (as if by magic!).

Split Tilt Systems

Any of the tilt rod styles mentioned above can be specified with a ‘Split Tilt’. This simply means that the rod mechanism is divided at the manufacturing stage.

Doing so provides the versatility of a panel with a divider rail (allowing the lourvres at the top to operate independently of the bottom), without the visual interuption of the divider rail.

Why Shutters?

Plantation shutters provide the homeowner with a beautiful window covering that can become a key feature in a room or an aesthetically pleasing feature, the choice is yours. Plantation shutters provide the homeowner with the ability to control the level of light entering a room to an exacting amount, perfect for setting the mood and tone of your room. A fantastic element of plantation shutters is that while you may want privacy in your room, you will still want natural light to enter. Shutters are unique in that they can be individually set to accommodate for natural light while still providing privacy and security.

Can Shutters Work With Curtains?

Of course! Curtains are very attractive and eye-catching feature of a room, providing total window coverage and great insulation. There is no reason plantation shutters & curtains cannot go hand-in-hand. Not only do they look wonderful together, but perform fantastically together too! You can have total control over the light in a room, you can also ensure you are getting maximum insulation by the combined effects of the blinds and the shutters. Visually, shutters and curtains look stunning. See for yourself in our gallery for more!

Are These Shutters Tailor-made for Me?

Absolutely! All of our shutters are made to measure, and are done to your windows / doors exacting requirements. You can choose how you want your plantation shutters to look and the dimensions of the wood used during construction.

What Type of Shutters Can I Choose From?

In terms of style, the sky is the limit.  When we make a shutter, we make it for one customer and one customer only. Every shutter we supply is personal, meaning your shutters are tailored and individual. The type of shutter you request for your window or door is likely to be exclusive, and specific to your personal expression and taste.

There are so many levels of customisation available to you, including colour, shape, style and accessories for the shutters. So we believe there is just one type of shutter we provide, and that is your type – made to your exacting requirements.

What Are Your Shutters Made From?

By default, we sell hardwood (basswood) shutters, which is universally recognised as the premium material for shutter construction.  But you do have options. We offer a range of materials to cater for any situation or requirement. We can supply Shutters in a range of materials and timbers, including Cedar, MDF & our specially formulated ABS waterproof material.

What Colours Can I Choose From?

All of our interior plantation shutters are available in a full range of Sayerlack Paints, an industry leading provider of wood paints. Our painters ensure your plantation shutters are of the highest quality and none make it through our manufacturing floor without proper inspection. Our customer favourites are cream, white and off-white, with custom paints available for order.

Are Shutters Safe For Children?

Of course. All of our shutters are provided with complimentary magnets which secure our plantation shutters to the window/wall and will require more that a child’s effort to detach the magnet. Furthermore, windows can be left open, with the shutter providing a guard for small children around the open window.

How Much Insulation Do Shutters Provide?

Plantation shutters provide excellent insulation. As can be seen from our thermal scans of a home with and without interior shutters, the level of insulation provided is instantly apparent. Another great feature about interior shutters is that on a hot day, the shutters can allow cool air to enter a room without the glare of the sun entering the room and heating a room to an uncomfortable temperature.
